On day 2 of our Acadia adventure, we hiked up Cadillac mountain (though at 1530′, mountain is a relative term here…)

We took the steepest, shortest way up – there was a lovely view of Bubble pond. My favorite part was all the shades of green. Breathtaking!

The view from the top of Cadillac! I loved looking down and seeing water – it was a really fun morning hike.

From the other side of the mountain, you can see Bar Harbor and the Porcupine Islands.

We took a longer, gentler way down – it was a really nice day for a walk.

In the afternoon, we kayaked out to a small island with a gorgeous Maine coastline. (I took relatively few pictures with the whole water thing.)

The water was crystal clear and the colors of the rocks and shells were amazing! (Most importantly, I kicked Hans’ butt paddling back.)
Once it got dark, we finished the day with a lobster dinner in Bar Harbor and roasted marshmallows over a campfire. A most excellent time, indeed.
