Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens Part II

Here’s the second round of pictures from the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens, with all the pretty plant pictures.  This is my favorite of the plumeria flowers – they had an entire exhibit of plumeria trees.  (These are the flowers they make leis out of! Aren’t they gorgeous?)

And a dual-colored rose from the rose gardens.  It’s just absolutely beautiful!

When you’re the best of friends!

From the butterfly garden – there were so many gorgeous butterflies!

Here’s a different blue one.  My mom loves butterflies – in fact, her name means butterfly.

An orange one, who was trying to color-coordinate.

A different orange one – in flight, it looks like it’s hang gliding.

This was outside the butterfly house.  There was a butterfly garden with some natives and some escapees.  Even though we were really careful going in and out, we let one of the butterflies out of the main area of the house – it happens!

If you get the chance, definitely stop by this small but wonderful botanical gardens in Corpus.  It’ll only take an hour or so to browse through, which is actually good – in the middle of summer you’ll want to see all the pretty flowers but the heat can get you down!
